A Republican of Arizona offers to pay for visits to X sites to build the barrier with Mexico.
While the US Senate will vote Thursday to try to stop the shutdown caused by the refusal to fund the Trump Wall, an Arizona Republican has devised a solution to fund this strong border with Mexico. Or at least part of it. Gail Griffin has indeed tabled a bill to find money to build the part of the wall located on the common border between Arizona and Mexico.
Obscene content blocked
This member of the House of Representatives of the State proposes to make pay this barrier, not by the Mexicans, as promised by Trump, but by the users of pornographic sites. To do so, she wants, according to the Quartz website, to force Internet distributors to block any obscene content to anyone who lives in Arizona. It will still be possible to visit the pornographic sites, but it will require the proof that one is at least 18 years old and pay, once, a fee of 20 dollars.
A McCain Fund
Gail Griffin is asking that this money be used to create the John McCain Fund for the Prevention of Human Trafficking and Exploitation of Children. This can be seen as a provocation, knowing that McCain, an Arizona senator who died last year, was by no means a warm supporter of Donald Trump or his wall. Especially since the first project that would feed this fund is precisely the erection of an impassable border between Arizona and the State.
The law is by far not yet accepted, since it must receive two-thirds of the votes of the House of Representatives and that it currently has 29 seats Democratic out of 60.
Still, to fund the $ 5.7 billion that Trump asks for his wall, it would require that 285 million people pay this pornographic tax of $ 20. That's 40 times the population of Arizona. But the state tax would be a cornerstone, if you will. (The morning)
